The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, India, a constituent of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has been vested with the responsibility of generating, cultivating and promoting building science and technology in the service of the country.
Since it’s inception in 1947, the Institute has been assisting the building construction and building material industries in finding timely, appropriate and economical solutions to the problems of building materials, health monitoring and rehabilitation of structures, disaster mitigation, fire safety, Energy efficient rural and urban housing. The Institute is committed to serve the people through R&D in the development process and maintains linkages at international and national level. The core areas of competence of CSIR-CBRI are disaster mitigation, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, architectural & planning, fire engineering and new building materials. CSIR-CBRI has also expertise in the field of health monitoring of distressed buildings/structures, monumental/heritage structures etc.
CBRI has entered into an MOU on the 04th July 2017, with Prashak Techno Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., the Habitech-NivaraTantra Technology solutions provider, to enable effective proliferation of the Habitech-NivaraTantra technology solutions comprising ACTIVITY including but not limited to its evaluation of engineering properties of their product samples supplied by the PARTY on a project to project basis for establishing low cost / affordable housing clusters and may suggest modifications leading to enhanced performance, cost effectiveness, enhanced efficacy etc.
CBRI was involved in technical evaluation of the key structural components including compacted intermeshing blocks for the prestigious project "Ashiana Annexe" as the Technology Innovation Demonstration project under the Rashtrapati Bhavan / CPWD initiative. Based on detailed evaluation of the Technology solutions comprising natural onsite sanitation integrated housing structures, CBRI decided to enable its proliferation and signed the MOU with Prashak Techno Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. which was formally exchanged on the 10th July 2017 in presence of Honorable President of India.
Prashak Techno Enterprises and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) based in Thailand have established a long term technology collaboration for continual development, creation of intellectual property and commercialization of the innovative building & on site sanitation technology solutions into specific areas
Both these technology soultions form the integrated offering which is collectivly refered as Habitech- NivaraTantra Technology. Habitech-NivaraTantra Technology has intellectual property (IP) rights vide a diverse patent portfolio which is owned by Asian Institute of Technology and managed by Prashak Techno Enterprises.
This is a unique role model of technology collaboration – a confluence of innovation led Techno-commercial acumen of Prashak and scientific legacy of AIT to provide a most reliable, time tested and robust innovative building technology value proposition.
